SBC BBC Manual Transmission Flywheel 3973456 OEM GM Small & Big Block Chevrolet
This is an original GM manual transmission flywheel for internally balanced Small and Big Block Chevy engines. The part number cast into the flywheel is 3973456(3 is missing in the casting number which is common). This flywheel is neutral balanced from the factory for 265, 302, 327, 350, 396 and 427 engines. That said, if rebalanced, it can work with 400 and 454 engines with a 2 piece rear main seal. The casting date is F 17 5 which I believe decodes as June 17th, 1965. This would be great for a 65 Corvette, etc. Please confirm your specific application. This flywheel is in good condition as shown. It has some corrosion from storage as shown. It will need to be surfaced and the ring gear should probably replaced. It does have some balancing holes and should be balanced to your application. Don’t miss this factory 168 tooth flywheel!
